Cheryl Otterbein, Psychotherapist
I have studied in two areas of focus: I am a Psychotherapist/Master Therapeutic Counsellor and a Clinical Counselling Hypnotherapist. My background is in the medical field, in varying capacities, where I helped people through their trauma, anxiety, and pain.
I approach all clients with the respect. Respect for their culture, their life, their beliefs, and their experiences. I utilize many tools, among them cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). I see each person as the unique individual that they are, and my approach will be unique to you and your goals.
My specialties are addressing trauma, anxiety, and inner childhood. I work with complex issues and other issues that prevent you from moving forward into your best life. I also work with hypnosis, if the client
would prefer that approach, to which we can also address menopausal symptoms, emotional eating, weight, smoking, addictive behaviors, chronic pain, insomnia, and much more.
As we work together, my approach is that we are a team. I work with individuals, couples, and families. I have been known to give couples homework!
I would be honored to work with you. Providing a safe space to share and in a relaxed environment is my priority.
Together we can make a difference.
